A wooden table with old family albums, letters and photographs

About Elise Archives

We preserve the pieces that still remember.

Family archives are rarely perfect. They arrive in boxes, envelopes, albums, drawers, and fragile bundles. Some are carefully labeled. Some carry only a date, a face, or a place no one is fully sure about. Elise Archives helps families bring those memories back into view with care, patience, and a process that feels personal from the first conversation.

The archive begins with attention

Built around memory, not volume.

Elise Archives was created for families who want more than a fast scan. We work with old photographs, letters, tapes, albums, slides, negatives, notebooks, certificates, and private family collections.

The goal is not only to create digital files. The goal is to preserve context.

Names. Dates. Places. Handwriting. Voices. Family branches. Small notes on the back of a photograph. A stamp on an envelope. A song recorded on a cassette. A house that appears again and again across decades of pictures.

These details are easy to lose. We help keep them connected.

Preservation should feel careful.

A family archive often contains the private history of several generations. It should never feel rushed, treated like a bulk task, or reduced to a folder of unnamed files.

At Elise Archives, every project begins with listening. We ask what the archive means to you, what you hope to preserve, and what level of organization your family needs.

Some families want a simple digital copy. Some want albums rebuilt as digital timelines. Some want fragile materials restored. Some want voices transferred from tape so grandchildren can hear them again.

There is no single correct way to preserve a family archive. There is only the right way for your family.

How we handle your archive

Our care standards

Gloves where needed

Fragile photos, paper, and negatives are handled with appropriate gloves and soft surfaces.

Original order respected

When albums, folders, or boxes have a meaningful order, we preserve that sequence during digitization.

Private by default

Your archive is treated as private family material. We do not share, publish, or reuse materials without explicit permission.

Context captured

Names, dates, notes, locations, labels, and family details can be added to the archive structure so the files remain meaningful.

Safe return

Original materials are returned in the agreed condition and order, with clear packaging and handling.

The person behind the process

Elise looks closely. Then she preserves carefully.

Elise began working with family archives after helping relatives organize old albums, cassette recordings, and letters that had been stored away for years. What began as a personal project became a service for families who wanted to protect their memories without turning the process into a cold technical task.

Her approach is quiet, structured, and deeply personal. She believes that preservation is part practical work and part listening work.

Before anything is scanned, restored, labeled, or returned, the archive needs to be understood.

Values

What guides every archive

Care

We treat each item as part of a larger story, even when the material looks small or ordinary.

Clarity

You always know what will happen next, what we recommend, and what your options are.

Privacy

Your family archive remains private, protected, and handled with discretion.

Context

We help preserve the meaning around each item, not only the image or recording itself.
